Microline Reverse Osmosis Systems in Maryland

We Treat Water Throughout Annapolis, Gaithersburg, Glenwood, Jarrettsville, Baltimore County & More!

From making coffee or tea to cooking family meals, the best way to achieve results that taste great is to start with fresh, pure water. Whether your supply comes from your local community or you have a private well, any impurities that are present in your water can cause it to acquire undesirable tastes or odors, and these contaminants can also lead to health problems. One of the most effective ways to remove impurities from your drinking water is through the installation of a reverse osmosis system.

At Water Doctor, we offer reverse osmosis systems from Microline, which feature four-stage filtration and advanced thin-film composite membranes that address impurities like lead, cadmium, arsenic, radium, and more. Since 1979, our team at Water Doctor has been providing homeowners throughout Maryland with quality water treatment solutions, including reverse osmosis systems, water softeners, whole-home water filtration, and comprehensive water quality testing services.

What Is Reverse Osmosis?

Reverse osmosis systems use high pressure to force water through a thin, porous membrane that has pores just large enough for water molecules to pass through. Any particles that are larger, such as sediment, lead, or cadmium, are left behind and flushed out through the drain system. Smaller particles like chlorine or sodium that have electric charges are attracted to the membrane itself, allowing them to be removed as well.

The water that successfully passes through the membrane is stored in a pressurized tank until it is ready for use. Because the membrane is easily clogged, reverse osmosis systems typically include a sediment filter prior to the membrane to remove larger particles, as well as an activated carbon filter to remove most of the chlorine molecules, which can damage the membrane. Many systems include an additional carbon filter after the membrane to further improve the taste and quality of the water.
